Ferris State 3, Parkside 1 (25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22)
The Parkside volleyball team hosted the Ferris State Bulldogs in De Simone Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers put up a fight, but ultimately fell to the conference-leading Bulldogs in four sets.
MATCH RECAP
The two teams battled back and forth in the opening set until the Bulldogs found a way to close out the set with a 5-0 run to beat the Rangers 25-23. It was more of the same scenario in the second set, as the two teams stayed with each other most of the way. The Bulldogs used a four-point rally to jump out to a two-point lead, which would allow them to cruise to a 25-19 victory and lead the match 2-0. The Rangers did not back down in the third set, however, using an 8-0 run that featured kills from
Reese Rossnagel,
Mariena Coon, and
Alysha Brickl to win the set 25-22 and force a fourth set. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 12-7 lead in the fourth set. The Rangers battled back with a 7-1 run that was led by an ace and a kill from
Ava Irvin to make the score 21-20 in favor of the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs proceeded to take five out of the final seven points to win the match.

HEAR FROM COACH BAREA
"The team embraced the challenge today and battled point for point with one of the best teams in our conference. We are very proud of our fight and although we did not have the result we wanted, we learned a lot about ourselves. Excited to see how we build our momentum going into the last few weeks of conference play."
