Rangers Fall on the Road Against Wayne State

Wayne State 3, Parkside 1 (25-15, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22) 
The Parkside volleyball traveled to Detroit, Mich. to face-off against the Wayne State Warriors Saturday afternoon. The two teams came into the match with overall records at 7-9 (2-6 GLIAC) Parkside and 10-6 (4-4 GLIAC) Wayne State.  
 
MATCH RECAP 
In the first set, the Warriors got off to an early lead and the Rangers had a few runs of their own, but it wasn't enough dropping set one 25-15. For set two, the Rangers bounced back to take an early lead. Parkside was up 21-19 before Wayne State called a timeout. The Warriors were able to have a response out of the timeout and taking the second set from the Rangers. Parkside was able to take an early lead in the third set going up 9-5 before Wayne State then called their first timeout of the set. The Rangers chipping away at their lead making the set 13-6 as the Warriors used their last timeout of the set. The Warriors weren't out of the set as they climbed back to make it 19-22 Parkside before calling a timeout. Parkside was able to respond out of the timeout garnering their lead to take set three, 25-19. In set four, Wayne State had a response by taking an early 8-3 lead before Leigh Barea called her first timeout of the set. Both teams traded points back and forth, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors continued their momentum winning the match.  

  
NOTEWORTHY STATS 
Reese Rossnagel led Parkside in kills with 18. Behind Rossnagel was Ava Irvin with 16 kills. Alysha Brick led Parkside in assists with 37. Defensively, Maddy Dokken tallied 18 digs.  
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
