Volleyball Falls Short at Home Against Wayne State

Wayne State 25, Parkside 17 (23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17)
A tough Wayne State volleyball team came in to Parkside on Friday night and took down the Rangers 3-1 after dropping the first set. The Warriors were receiving votes in the latest AVCA National Poll and improved to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the GLIAC, while the Rangers dropped to 4-7.

Saturday's match against Saginaw Valley State has been postponed to a later date. Please check ParksideRangers.com for the updated game day/time.

SET 1: The Rangers finished off the Warriors in set one, but it wasn't easy, as Parkside held onto a 24-19 advantage but WSU brought it to 24-23. A kill by senior Jazmine Neal gave the Rangers the 25-23 win.

SET 2: WSU used a 5-0 run after breaking a 15-15 tie and didn't let Parkside back into the match.

SET 3: Once again, WSU pulled away in the end as the two teams were tied up at 18-18. This time, they used a short 3-0 run to get a lead and ended up with a 25-20 win.

SET 4: The Warriors put away the Rangers in the fourth after trailing 13-12; they used a 5-0 run to jump out to a 17-13 lead and the Rangers couldn't get the run they needed to pull back into the match.
