Megan Aliverti of the Parkside softball team was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-Midwest Region team as a utility player, as announced yesterday by the NFCA.
This is the first NFCA All-Region honoree for the Rangers since Carly Dundee in 2017. Aliverti is one of just five GLIAC student-athletes to make All-Region.

"We are so proud off all Megan's hard work, dedication and commitment to our program," head coach
Kristin Ortman said. "It was awesome to see her finish her career with such a great season. She is very deserving of making NFCA Second Team!
Aliverti, who was undoubtedly a tough out all season long for opposing pitchers, was named First Team All-GLIAC earlier this week at the GLIAC Softball Tournament. She was also named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year at the 2021 Ranger Awards, which takes into account everything on the field, in the classroom and beyond.
The Clarkston, Wash., led the GLIAC in home runs, walks, on-base percentage and slugging percentage and was second in both doubles and batting average. She had 11 multi-hit games this season, including a 2-game stretch where she went 5-for-7 with four home runs and nine RBI late in the season. Aliverti split time between catcher, third base and first base all season.
