Parkside men's basketball's late comeback fell short against GLIAC North leading Michigan Tech on Friday afternoon at De Simone Gymnasium. With the win, the Huskies clinched the GLIAC North Division title and moved to 11-6 this season while the Rangers dropped to 9-8 overall.

DOWN THE STRETCH
Parkside trailed by 12 points with 13:11 to play, but ripped off a 13-0 run that spanned over 5:00 long and took a 1-point lead at 55-54 with 8:32 to play. The Huskies followed that with a 6-0 run however, and didn't trail again in the game. Parkside brought it within two points twice, but the Huskies made a couple of key shots down the stretch.

In the first half, both team's went back-and-forth for much of the way, but MTU pulled away and led 42-30 at half.Â

Four players finished in double-figures for Parkside, including sophomore
Vinson Sigmon Jr. with a team-high 18. Both redshirt-junior
Brandon Hau and senior
Ramar Evans finished with 13 while sophomore
Solomon Oraegbu had 12. Hau had a game-high nine rebounds while Evans had seven.

Parkside shot really well, finishing 28-of-54 from the floor, a mark of 51.9-percent, but the Huskies also shot extremely well, going 27-for-51, mark of 52.9-percent. Parkside went -5 in turnovers and +9 in rebounding, but MTU hit four more 3-pointers.

Parkside will face Michigan Tech once more on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the final Marquee Matchup, powered by Upload Partners. The Rangers will await their fate in the GLIAC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, March 2 on campus sites.
