Parkside men's basketball opened the game on an 8-0 run, but it was all Michigan Tech from there on, as the Huskies went on to outscore Parkside 40-14 in the first half and cruised to the win over the Rangers.

Parkside ends the regular season at 9-9 overall and earned the No. 7 seed in the GLIAC Tournament; they'll host Saginaw Valley State on Tuesday, March 2. The game time will be announced at a later date.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The duo of sophomore
Vinson Sigmon Jr. and freshman
Colin O'Rourke got the Rangers up early, but the Huskies answered the Rangers' run with a 15-0 run and never trailed again. MTU pushed the lead to double-digits and held it there for much of the half, taking a 40-22 lead into the locker room. MTU shot 14-of-25 from the floor in the first half and 7-of-15 from beyond the arc.

In the second half, the Rangers dropped the deficit to 18 points early on, but Michigan Tech never let the Rangers back into the game.

Sophomore
Solomon Oraegbu led the Rangers with 14 points and seven rebounds while Sigmon Jr. had 12 points. Freshman
Josiah Palmer had nine while senior
Ramar Evans had five points and seven rebounds.

MTU finished 50-percent from the floor and 46.2-percent from beyond the arc. The Rangers finished 18-for-59 from the floor (30.5-percent) and 5-for-25 from downtown.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers earned the No. 7 seed in the GLIAC Tournament and will host Saginaw Valley State on Tuesday, March 2 in De Simone Gymnasium. With a win, Parkside will finish out the rest of the tournament on the campus of Purdue Northwest, with Quarterfinals on Thursday, Semifinals on Friday and the Championship game on Sunday.
