Six in Double-Figures as Men's Basketball Defeats LSSU on the Road

Parkside 82, Lake Superior State 75
Timely shooting down the stretch helped the Parkside men's basketball team to a road victory at Lake Superior State Friday afternoon. Freshman Josiah Palmer hit a pair of 3-pointers and senior Ramar Evans connected on one of his own in the final 2:00 to help the Rangers finish out the victory. Six players finished in double-figures for Parkside on Friday.

With the win, Parkside improved to 9-6 and moved to a 3-way tie in third place with Michigan Tech and Ashland.

HEAR FROM COACH REIGEL
"We had a lot of guys play well today," head coach Luke Reigel said. "We will need that same effort tomorrow against this good Lake Superior State team."

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers started the game off hot, jumping out to a 9-2 lead early on after a Colin O'Rourke 3-pointer. Parkside pushed the lead to double-digits with 12:53 to play in the first half, but the Lakers used a 13-0 run to take the lead with 8:51 to play. The teams traded baskets the rest of the way and went into the locker room all tied up, 37-37.

In the second half, the teams traded the lead back and forth for the majority of the half. With the game tied 67-67 with 3:00 to play, Parkside took the lead for the final time and wouldn't surrender it. Freshman Josiah Palmer connected on two huge 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to put Parkside up 75-69 with 1:10 to play. Senior Ramar Evans also hit a big triple with :22-seconds left and the Rangers iced the game away at the free-throw line from there.
