Nelson, a senior from New Berlin, Wis., was named to both the All-GLIAC team, as well as the All-GLIAC Defensive team in the shortened 2020-2021 season. She also set the Parkside single season scoring average record when she concluded the season with an average of 19.9 points per game. Along with the high scoring numbers, Nelson also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists per game, and 1.95 steals per game.
"Alyssa is an exceptional player that had an amazing season last year." said Parkside head coach
Jen Conely, "As a junior, she was one of the most efficient players in the league and made a significant impact on both ends of the floor for us. She continues to elevate her game and is playing at an even higher level this year. We really enjoy coaching her and are expecting great things from her this season."
Nelson is already living up to the preseason hype, as she is currently averaging 22 points per game, along with 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She was also named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week following the first week of the season.
