Northern Michigan 3, Parkside 2
The Parkside volleyball team dropped a five-set heartbreaker at home Saturday afternoon to Northern Michigan. The Rangers fall to 7-14 overall and 3-6 in the GLIAC after the weekend. They also welcome in Saginaw Valley State on Sunday for a Halloween make-up match at 2 p.m. in De Simone Gymnasium.

SET 1: The Rangers took an early lead and never trailed in the first set, but it wasn't easy. A kill by sophomore
Jessica Pappas ended the first set and gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the match.

SET 2: NMU jumped out to big lead in the second set at 11-3 and held the Rangers back. The Wildcats scored five of the final six points to put the set away and tie the match 1-1.

SET 3: With the Wildcats leading 12-11, the Rangers ripped off a 5-0 run sparked by a junior
Reese Rossnagel kill. Rossnagel later ended the set with another kill, her second straight, to put Parkside up 2-1.

SET 4: Late in the set, NMU led 18-17 and used a quick 4-0 run to pull away and Parkside couldn't get the run they needed.

SET 5: The Rangers jumped out to a 5-2 advantage early on, but NMU battled back to take a 13-11 lead. After an NMU service error and an
Emily Shelton ace, the set was tied at 13-13, but the Wildcats scored the final two points to finish out the match.

Rossnagel led the Rangers with 17 kills while sophomore
Jessica Pappas had 16 and freshman
Lindsay Krznarich had 11. Krznarich and senior
Jazmine Neal had 8.0 and 7.0 blocks, respectively. Junior
Alysha Brickl led the team in assists (37) and digs (14).

Parkside will battle Purdue Northwest on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. and welcome in SVSU on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m.
