Men's Soccer Loses Nail-biter at Home on Sunday

Northern Michigan 2, Parkside 1
On a rainy Sunday afternoon at Wood Road Field, Northern Michigan came into Kenosha and beat the Parkside men's soccer team 2-1. The Rangers had some excellent chances late in the game, including a penalty kick with under a minute to play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats put the pressure on very early, scoring a goal in the 3rd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Parkside outshot NMU 6-2 in the first half, but couldn't get the tying goal to go.
 
The Wildcats added a second goal in the 63rd minute to go up 2-0, the second of the day by Brady Kronenburg. Parkside got on the scoreboard a little later on in the 68th minute as redshirt-junior Rade Novakovich put away his GLIAC-leading 12th goal of the season. Redshirt-junior Nikola Kesich was credited with the assist, his fifth of the season.
 
 
Senior Max Ludwig had a chance to tie it with a penalty kick in the 89th minute, but it hit the left post.
 
STATWORTHY
Novakovich finished with five shots, two on goal along with the Rangers' only score. Kesich had three shots and an assist while Matteo Quintero had two shots. Ludwig finished with three shots. Alexandre Durand played the full game for Parkside, finishing with three saves.
