Saginaw Valley State 0, Parkside 0
The Rangers opened up the weekend with a match against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at Wood Road Field. This was the final time the two teams will face each other before a potential match in the GLIAC tournament. The match looked to play a crucial role in both teams' seasons, as both teams are near the top in the standings and both coming off losses. Both teams battled through the entire 110 minutes, but neither team was able to find the back of the net, and the match ended in a tie.

HEAR FROM COACH ZITZKE
"Another tough GLIAC battle against Saginaw. I feel like most of them over the years have been pretty closely-contested games. They are always somewhere near the top of the league and have very good players. They're hard-nosed, and tough. I thought it was a good battle between two good teams. They had a couple of chances early that they just missed, and we had a couple chances late. I think, in the end, the think I'll take away most is how proud I am of how Alex (Durand) and the defenders organized the whole team and kept a clean sheet for the whole match. The whole team played good defensively, but especially that back line."
