Seven in Double-Figures as Men's Basketball Beats PNW on the Road

Parkside 93, Purdue Northwest 81
Seven players finished in double-figures for Parkside men's basketball, who improved to 4-3 on the season with a road win over Purdue Northwest Tuesday night. Both redshirt-senior Tray Croft and redshirt-junior Brandon Hau finished with double-doubles.

The Rangers shot a season-high 55.1-percent from the floor and 45.5-percent from downtown while scoring their most points since dropping 96 on East-West University on Nov. 23, 2019. Parkside, who went for a season-high 23 assists in Tuesday's win, has now had back-to-back games with 10+ 3-pointers.

HEAR FROM COACH REIGEL
"I loved the way we shared the basketball tonight. I don't remember the last time we had seven players in double figures." Head coach Luke Reigel said. "Brandon Hau played an outstanding game as well, he really competed on both ends of the floor. To win two out of three road games in five days against two very good teams is not easy to do. Now we have to get ready for a very physical Saginaw team on a short turnaround."

HOW IT HAPPENED
After PNW held the lead for the first 10-minutes of the first half, a triple from Vinson Sigmon Jr. gave Parkside a 24-23 lead with 8:40 to play and they never trailed again. The Rangers used a 17-5 run to push the lead to double-digits and ended up leading 46-39 to end the first half. Parkside went 9-of-16 from beyond the arc in the first half and Bryce Prochaska led the way with 10 points in the first half.

In the second half, the Pride dropped the Rangers' lead down to six points with 13:23 to play, but Parkside quickly pushed it back to 15 points with 9:24 to play. PNW didn't quit, using an 8-0 run to bring it to 75-68 with 6:04 to play, but Parkside never let the Pride any closer from there out.

STATWORTHY
Prochaska led the way with a career-high 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Croft finished with a 10-point, 10-assist double-double while Hau's double-double was 14 points and 12 rebounds. Colin O'Rourke (14), Vinson Sigmon Jr. (11), Ramar Evans (10) and Josiah Palmer (10) all finished in double-figures.

Rebounding went even at 35-35, while the Rangers went +2 in turnovers and held PNW to a 5-for-17 night beyond the arc.
