Men's Basketball Can't Slow Down Ferris State; Teams Split the Weekend

Ferris State 87, Parkside 69
Parkside men's basketball couldn't slow down Ferris State and Walt Kelser on Saturday afternoon at De Simone Gymnasium. Kelser finished with a game-high 39 points for the visiting Bulldogs as the two teams split the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game opened with Parkside picking up right where they left off Friday as the Rangers took an 18-9 lead in the early going. With the Rangers leading 29-22 with 5:51 to play in the first, the Bulldogs ripped off a 15-0 run with Kelser scoring 13 straight. FSU took a 43-37 lead into the break.

In the second half, Parkside's Solomon Oraegbu scored the first basket to cut it to a 4-point FSU lead, but the Bulldogs followed that up with a 12-1 run to go up 55-42. The Rangers were never able to get within single digits the rest of the way as the Bulldogs led by as many as 20 points.

WHO LED THE WAY
Senior Tray Croft led Parkside with a season-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting while freshman Josiah Palmer tied his career-high with 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Senior Ramar Evans finished with nine points and Brandon Hau/Oraegbu each had eight.

The Rangers shot 45.5-percent from the floor, but the Bulldogs finished at 54.0-percent and went 11-of-23 from beyond the arc. FSU won the rebounding battle 34-23 and the turnover battle 8-7.
