Men's Basketball Cruises to 72-55 Road Win at Northern Michigan

Parkside 72, Northern Michigan 55
Parkside men's basketball split the weekend series at Northern Michigan, as the Rangers cruised to a 17-point victory on Sunday afternoon in Marquette, Mich. Parkside outscored the Wildcats 39-25 in the second half and sophomore Solomon Oraegbu followed up his career-high point total yesterday with a team-leading 16 points and six rebounds in Sunday's win.

HEAR FROM COACH REIGEL
"We played much better on the defensive end today," head coach Luke Reigel said. "I like when we are more aggressive. Good to get a split on the road, but I wish we would have got two."

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats led by as many as nine points in the first half, but a late 10-2 run by the Rangers helped them claim a 33-30 advantage at the half, despite going 1-for-11 from beyond the arc. Oraegbu had eight of his 16 points in the first half and went 4-for-4 from the floor.

In the second half, a quick 11-3 run in the first 2:12 put Parkside up 44-33 and the Wildcats never threatened again. The Rangers also ripped off a 14-3 run in the middle of the second half as the team heated up from 3-point range, going 6-for-13 in the second half.

STATWORTHY
After Oraegbu's 16-point, 6-rebound night, junior Bryce Prochaska finished with 13 points and hit three 3-pointers. Redshirt-junior Brandon Hau had 11 points and two steals and senior Tray Croft and sophomore Vinson Sigmon Jr. each finished with eight.

Parkside shot 50.9-percent from the floor while holding NMU to 43.5-percent. NMU won the rebounding battle 29-24, but Parkside won the turnover battle 13-7.
