Parkside men's basketball suffered its first home loss since Nov. 29, 2018 on Saturday afternoon, as the Cardinals snapped the Rangers' 16-game home winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside struggled from the floor early on and the Cardinals took an 11-2 lead 4:00 into the game. The Rangers responded, rattling off an 8-0 run and eventually took their first lead of the game late in the first half. Parkside ended the half on a 7-0 run and took a 31-24 into the break.

With the game tied 41-41, SVSU hit a triple and never trailed again. The Cardinals pushed their lead to double-digits at the 5:46 mark and never let the Rangers back into the game.

WHO LED THE WAY
Junior
Ramar Evans led the Rangers with 19 points and hit five 3-pointers while redshirt-sophomore
Brandon Hau had 15 points and redshirt-sophomore
Joey St. Pierre had 14 points and led the team in rebounds (6) and blocks (3).

Parkside shot 50-percent from the floor and went 6-for-20 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals shot 45.3-percent from the floor, but got a huge lift in free-throw shooting (19-of-21) and the turnover battle (+7).

The Rangers will host four straight home games, starting with Michigan Tech on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. After the Huskies game, Parkside will host Northern Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 11.
