DAVENPORT 70, PARKSIDE 49
Parkside men's basketball struggled Thursday night against Davenport, where the Panthers handed the Rangers their second home loss of the season. Parkside split the season series with Davenport, who was tied for 10^th in the latest Midwest Regional Poll results. The Rangers welcome in No. 20 Grand Valley State on Saturday to finish out Pink Weekend.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport led for more than 39:00 of the game, with Parkside never able to take a lead. The Panthers jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back, holding Parkside to 19 points in the first half. In the second half, the Rangers hung tough in the opening minutes, but Davenport started pouring it on midway through the second half and led by as many as 33 points. Parkside outscored Davenport by nine in the final 5:00 of the ball game.

Freshman Solomon Oraegbu led Parkside with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Senior Jonathan Morrobel had seven points and Brandon Hau had six, both came off the bench. The Rangers were outrebounded 44-29 and were held to 3-of-19 from beyond the arc and struggled at the free-throw line as well, going 8-of-18.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers have a tough opponent next time out, as the team will host No. 20 Grand Valley State on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. for the finale of Pink Weekend. During halftime of the men's game, Parkside Athletics will host a teddy bear toss where all bears will be donated to children battling deadly diseases at Aurora hospitals. Fans are asked to either bring a new or lightly loved bear, or buy a Parkside teddy bear for $5 at the game.
