Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss at Lake Superior State

LAKE SUPERIOR STATE 75, PARKSIDE 66
Brandon Trimble's 22 points wasn't enough as Parkside men's basketball was bested by Lake Superior State Saturday afternoon at Bud Cooper Gymnasium. The Lakers got a huge lift on turnovers, being +9 on the day and finished with 29 points off turnovers, while the Rangers had 10. Parkside returns home with a couple of tough opponents next weekend in Davenport and No. 11 Grand Valley State.

GAME SUMMARY
The Rangers started out hot, grabbing a 12-6 lead 5:00 into the ball game. The Lakers followed that up with a 9-0 run and never looked back. The Rangers kept it close up until the final seconds only down two points with 2:00 left, but they were never able to retake the lead. LSSU finished the game scoring the final seven points, and iced it away at the free-throw line. The Rangers will look to get revenge on Feb. 20 when they host the Lakers at De Simone Gymnasium.

A LOOK AT THE BOX SCORE
Trimble's 22 led all scorers, as the redshirt-sophomore finished 8-for-15 from the floor. Joey St. Pierre had 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting while Vinson Sigmon Jr. had nine. Parkside shot 50-percent from the floor, while holding the Lakers to 45.3-percent. The Rangers struggled from beyond the arc, going 5-of-20.

Ke'Montrece Collins and Justin Fischer led the Lakers attack with 18 and 17 points respectively.

WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside will host Pink Weekend on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1, supporting breast cancer awareness. The Rangers welcome in last years GLIAC Regular Season Champion Davenport on Thursday and the GLIAC Tournament Champion and No. 11 ranked Grand Valley State on Saturday.
