PARKSIDE 76, WAYNE STATE 73 (OT)
The Parkside men's basketball team grinded out a tough overtime win over Wayne State Thursday night as the Athletics Department celebrated the Ranger Impact Fund Drive. Wayne State had a 3-point advantage in overtime, but the Rangers finished by outscoring the Warriors 8-2 with all points coming at the free-throw line.

 The Rangers and Warriors' last three matchups have been decided by four points or less each time, with back-to-back games at De Simone Gymnasium going to overtime. Parkside has now won 19 of its last 20 home games.

DOWN THE STRETCH
Parkside held on to a 66-60 lead with 4:15 to go, but were held scoreless while Wayne State came back and tied it up at 66-66.
Brandon Trimble connected on a tough driving layup with :42-seconds left and the Warriors were able to answer, tying it up at 68-68. Trimble had a potential game-winner stripped away while he went up as time expired.

In overtime, the Warriors got an and-one right out of the gates to take a 71-68 lead.
Ramar Evans was fouled on a 3-pointer with 2:51 left and sunk all three free throws to tie up. The Rangers scored all eight of their points in OT at the line, including two more by Evans that gave Parkside a 76-73 lead. Parkside forced a miss on the Warriors final possession.

Evans led the Rangers with 18 points and eight rebounds and went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. Trimble, the reigning GLIAC North Player of the Week, finished with 17 off the bench while
Solomon Oraegbu had 15 and
Brandon Hau had 13.

Parkside shot 43.6-percent from the floor and 23-of-27 from the free-throw line. Wayne State, who played seven players, were led by Brailen Neely with 26 points while the Warriors finished with zero bench points. Parkside went +1 in rebounding and -1 in the turnover battle.

Parkside will host Ashland on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. for a Ranger Cub Club Day before hitting the road next weekend.
