#13 GRAND VALLEY STATE 84, PARKSIDE 51
The Rangers ended the weekend with a tough loss to the No. 13 ranked Grand Valley State Lakers after an exciting win against Davenport on Thursday night. Junior

Shelby Cheston led the team with 10 points a piece.
FIRST HALF
The Lakers went on an 8-0 run to start the game before Cheston finished a layup to put the Rangers on the board with a score of 8-2 at 7:17. GVSU held Parkside to seven points in the first quarter, while they had 22. To start the second quarter, Rahkonen was able to finish a jumper early but then the Lakers went on a 10-0 run making the score 32-9 at 7:39. Freshman
Hannah Plockelman eventually scored to stop this GVSU run. As the first half expired, the Rangers trailed the Lakers by 20 points with a score of 43-23.
SECOND HALF
The third quarter was very back-and-forth until 5:06 when GVSU went on a 14-0 that was stopped by a jumper by redshirt-junior
Taylor Stephen with :32 seconds left. The Lakers scored one final time before the time expired in the third, making the score 64-31. In the fourth quarter, the Rangers began to rally, scoring the most points out of any quarter, but it was too late. The Lakers increased their lead and the final score of 84-51.
STATWORTHY
Rahkonen and Cheston led Parkside with 10 points a piece. Plockelman led the team with six rebounds followed by Stephen with five. Graduate student
Ali Bettencourt and senior
Georgie Eishold each had three assists. Parkside scored 29 points off the bench.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers will face Wayne State and Ashland next week Thursday and Saturday before returning to DeSimone on Feb. 21 where they will face Lake Superior State. This game is also Academic Achievement and Faculty/Staff Appreciation night presented by Chick-fil-A. On Feb. 23, Parkside will host Ferris State at 1 p.m. and this is a White Out game sponsored by Goodwill.
