PARKSIDE 80, GRAND VALLEY STATE 79 (OT)
Parkside men's basketball avenged an earlier loss to Grand Valley State with a tough 80-79 win over the Lakers in overtime Saturday night. GVSU is the only team to beat the Rangers at home this season.
Ramar Evans hit a game-tying 3-pointer with :06-seconds left in regulation and Parkside won the game in overtime as
Joey St. Pierre finished a game-tying layup under :10-seconds.

The Rangers stayed in third place in the GLIAC at 10-5 in conference play.

FIRST PLAY
The teams stayed tight through the early going, as Parkside led 13-10 with 13:28 to go and then pushed it to a 19-11 lead with 11:12 to go. The Rangers held on to the lead throughout the first half, taking a 35-30 lead into the locker room.

SECOND HALF
In the second half, GVSU came out hot, starting out on a 9-0 run to take a 39-35 lead with 17:03 to play in the half. After the Lakers pushed it to a 9-point advantage with 14:21 to play, Parkside came back, cutting into the deficit and tying the game at 50-50 after a an 11-2 run at the 10:10 point of the second half. Neither team led by more than 3-points the rest of the way, as the Lakers hit a triple with 1:09 to play, but Evans 3-pointer at :06-seconds tied it up at 65-65.

OVERTIME
Immediately out of the gates,
Adam Bonk connected on a 3-pointer to give the Rangers a 3-point advantage, but the Lakers came back to grab the lead at 73-31. The Rangers grabbed the lead on a 3-point free-throw trip by
Brandon Hau. Later in the game, St Pierre finished the Ranger win with a layup at the :07-second mark.

STATWORTHY
St. Pierre finished with a team-high 20 points while three Rangers finished in double-figures, with
Chavares Flanigan at 13 and Hau and
Brandon Trimble at 10 points.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Ranges have another weekend on the road, facing Wayne State on Thursday and Ashland on Saturday next week. Parkside returns home on Thursday, Feb. 21 against Lake Superior State for Retro Night and Feb. 23 against Ferris State for White Out Night.
