The Parkside volleyball team fell in nonconference action at Illinois-Springfield Tuesday night, as the Prairie Stars won 25-18, 22-25, 25-13, 25-21. The Rangers, who played their final home game last Saturday, return to GLIAC play on Friday at Grand Valley State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening set, the teams were even at 12-12 midway through, but UIS used a 4-0 run and ended the set with four of the final five points. Parkside rallied back in the second, jumping out to a commanding lead in the beginning and closing out strong after the Prairie Stars closed the gap. UIS rolled to a 25-13 win in the third to take a 2-1 lead, then used a comeback win in the fourth to win the match. The Rangers led 17-11 in the fourth, but UIS used a 12-2 run to take the lead back.

Jazmine Neal led the team in kills with 15, while freshman
Reese Rossnagel had 12 and junior
Rachel Hedman had 11. Senior
Ann Leo had a team-high 19 digs and four aces and freshman
Alysha Brickl had a team-high 38 assists.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Grand Valley State at 6 p.m., followed by a trip to Davenport on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Rangers will end the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Purdue Northwest.
