HEAR FROM COACH REIGEL
"Good teams win when they don't play their best, so that's what I'm going to take out of today," head coach
Luke Reigel said. "We were far from our best and somehow we got it done today and we haven't done that this year."
Â
"I thought we played very well defensively, throughout the game they shot 42-percent and that's where our calling card has been, even in our losses, I think we've played pretty well defensively. Offensively we did enough, Flanigan/Trimble again knocked down a bunch of free throws and this was a great conference win so we're going to run with it."
Â
OVERTIME
The Warriors led by as many as three points in the overtime, including a 65-62 lead with 2:03 to play. That was followed by a jumper, a layup and three made free throws by Trimble in the middle of three straight defensive stops by Parkside.
Â
DOWN THE STRETCH
With under a minute to play in regulation, Wayne State's Darian Owens-White buried a triple to tie it at 59-59. Parkside came down and missed a shot, followed by a missed shot by Owens-White with :18 to play.
Ramar Evans missed a step-back jumper in the corner with :06 to play to send the game to overtime.
Â
Neither team led by more than five points the entire game, and that largest lead of the game came at the 17:55 mark in the first half when Parkside led 8-3.
