Parkside 3, Wayne State 2
FROM COACH BAREA
"I am so proud of our team tonight," Head Coach
Leigh Barea said. "They played inspired and together after changing our lineup the beginning of the week. I can't thank our fans and supporters enough for tonight, they were a huge part of the win because of the atmosphere they created."
GREAT START, BETTER FINISH
The Rangers, who improved to 4-10 overall and 2-4 in the GLIAC with the win, came out and demolished the Warriors in the first set 25-9 after taking a 10-0 lead to open the match, which fired up the crowd on Retro Night in DeSimone Gymnasium. Wayne State bounced back however, coming back to take sets two and three 25-23, 25-18, respectively. That didn't scare off the Rangers, who answered right back with a 25-23 win in set four to set up a loud fifth set. In the final set, the Warriors jumped out to 2-0 advantage, which quieted the crowd, the Parkside stormed back and took a 5-2 lead. The teams went back-and-forth before the Green & White took a 12-9 lead and came out with the big 15-12 win.
