"I couldn't be more excited about bringing Carly on board," Breitbach said. "Her exceptional career as a six-time NCAA Champion speaks to her remarkable work ethic and competitive drive. Her track record with recruiting and working with national-class athletes at her previous institutions have her ready to step right in and have an immediate impact at Parkside. I have no doubts she will be an engine behind tremendous things to come for Ranger Track & Field as we step into the elite Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference."

Fehler, an Oak Creek, Wis., native, most recently spent the last year as a graduate assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State where she primarily worked with sprints, hurdles and jumps while spearheading the team's recruiting efforts. Before her time with the Mustangs, Fehler was an assistant coach at UW-Eau Claire for two years after graduating. She assisted the Blugold program with sprints and was part of their men's team National Championship in 2016.

"I think it's an exciting time to be joining the Parkside staff," Fehler said. "There have been a lot of good changes to the track & field program and athletic program as a whole over the last couple of years, so I feel very fortunate to be a part of a program that is headed in the right direction."

During her time as an athlete at UW-Eau Claire, Fehler had an outstanding career, where she was a six-time NCAA Division III Champion and a seven-time All-American. She holds the Blugolds' school records in the indoor 60 and 200 and the outdoor 100, 200 and 4x100 relay. The three-time team captain was awarded the 2015 Division III Athlete of the Year and was a nominee for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year. In 2015, she was the NCAA's Outdoor and Indoor National Championships Performer of the Meet.

"Carly's capacity to have an impact on our recruiting and the development of our already talented roster of student-athletes made her a slam dunk pick for the future of our program," Breitbach added. "We are looking forward to building something truly special that the entire department, University, and surrounding community can take pride in. She will help to bring the absolute best out of everyone associated with our program, on and off the track."

"It feels really good to be coming back home and be able to coach in an area that I'm really familiar with," Fehler added. "It's a special thing to be able to join a teammate; it makes this position all the more exciting."

Fehler graduated cum laude from UW-Eau Claire in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature with a minor in science of coaching. She will complete her Masters of Science degree in sport management at UW-Parkside.
