Box Score 2 ROSEMONT, Ill. – On its first day at the Rosemont Dome, Parkside softball earned a split against Lindenwood and Wayne State. First the Rangers fell to the Lions 7-3, then battled back to defeat the Warriors 4-2 as
Alyssa Hrncar earned her third straight win in as many games.

In game one, after Parkside took an early 1-0 lead after a
Megan Aliverti RBI groundout, the Lions scored six straight runs including a four-run fourth inning to open a 6-1 lead.
Aliverti made it a 6-3 game with a two-run single in the top of the fifth inning, but Lindenwood scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning to close out the win.
Aliverti finished with three RBI while
Morgan Sikon went 2-for-3 and
Jessica Shields had one hit and two stolen bases out of the leadoff spot.
Allison Hausl suffered her first loss of the season, going 6.0 innings allowing seven runs off six hits and seven walks, including two with the bases loaded.
In game two, Parkside opened up strong with a three-run first inning to take a 3-0 lead. In the first inning, Shields reached on an error and
Kellie Fenza followed that with a walk. Aliverti drove in the game's first run with a single to left field, making it 1-0 Rangers. After
Adrien Hall drew a walk, Sikon ripped a single to center field to score Fenza and made it 2-0. The last run of the inning came in on an error by the third baseman to make it 3-0 Parkside.
Hrncar was dealing early, holding Wayne State scoreless through the first five innings until the Warriors finally broke through with a two-run sixth inning to make it 3-2 Parkside.
The Rangers added one final insurance run in the top of the seventh run as Aliverti drove in Shields with single to left field, making it 4-2 Parkside. Hrncar came out and shut down Wayne State in the bottom of the seventh to finish out the game for her third straight complete game.
Aliverti finished 2-for-4 with two RBI while Manders went 2-for-3 for the Rangers.
The Rangers will have two games on Saturday, first playing Findlay at 1:30 p.m. and then playing Ashland at 8 p.m.
