ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Parkside men's basketball had a nice first half to open things up on the road against Lewis Saturday afternoon, but the Flyers used a big second half to overcome the Ranger lead and win 71-57.

The Flyers took control early, jumping out to a 7-1 lead early on less than 4:00 into the game. The Rangers battled back, going on a short 9-2 run to take a 10-9 lead after three straight buckets by
Goran Zagorac. Parkside took a five-point lead with 9:19 to play in the half off an
Adam Bonk triple, the team's largest of the half. Zagorac hit a layup with :37 to play in the half to put Parkside up 26-23 at the break. The Rangers held the Flyers scoreless for the final 3:00 of the game.
In the second half,
Bret Barclay hit a 3-pointer with 17:21 to play to put Parkside up three, but Lewis came back to take the lead and never lost it again, pushing it to double-digits with 10:32 to play and never letting the Green & White back in the ball game.
Zagorac finished with a team-high 16 points and five rebounds while
Ramar Evans had 12 and Espen Fjarerestad had 11. Parkside shot 46-percent from the floor and 6-of-21 from beyond the arc. Lewis won the rebounding battle 36-20.
The Rangers will take two more games on the road, heading out to Truman State on Thursday, Feb. 15 to start next week.
