Parkside, who was on a brief two-game winning streak, came in having won five of its last six games, including two over top-25 teams (#1 Bellarmine & #25 William Jewell). With the loss, the Rangers fall to 7-12 overall and 5-4 in the GLVC while USI moves to 16-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

Late in the second half, Adam Bonk connected on a jumper to make it 47-43 with 11:18 left to go, but USI finished the game outscoring Parkside 27-12 the rest of the way to earn the win. In the first half, Parkside held a 9-8 lead early on and the teams battled back-and-forth throughout the half, but after USI grabbed the lead they never lost it. The Eagles ended the half on a short 5-0 run to own a 31-25 advantage at the break.

The Eagles outshot Parkside (47.4-35.1-percent) and won the rebounding battle 41-33. Individually, Jameel Moore led the way in scoring with 14 points and added six rebounds. Goran Zagorac, who entered this game fresh off three-straight double-doubles, finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Green & White will finish the week on the road, battling Maryville on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. before returning home for two-straight games.
