Parkside, who was coming off a win over top-ranked Bellarmine on Saturday, led 31-26 at halftime after ending the half on a 10-2 run. Earlier in the half, Lewis used a quick 8-0 run to take a 15-14 lead until Riley Keckeisen ended that with a triple. The Rangers shot 50-percent in the first half while holding the Flyers to 33.3-percent.
The second half was a different story, as Lewis got the hot hand and shot 56.5-percent in the second half and went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. With the game tied 45-45 with 10:00 to play, Lewis went on a 9-0 run and the Rangers couldn't recover. Parkside moved the deficit to six after a Goran Zagorac and-one, but that was as close as the team would get.
Freshman Ramar Evans finished with a career-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and finished with six rebounds. Zagorac went for 13 points and 11 rebounds, making it his first double-double since Jan. 2, 2016. Jameel Moore finished right around his scoring average, going for 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.
The Green & White will continue the busy week with two more home games, first welcoming in William Jewell on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. followed by Rockhurst on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
