It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with some extremely intense final minutes in DeSimone Gymnasium as neither team led by double-digits at any time throughout the game. Espen Fjaerestad hit a huge 3-pointer with 1:56 to play, giving the Rangers a 68-65 lead. The Bulldogs grabbed the lead back with a layup and a pair of free throws, but the Rangers went back on top as Bret Barclay went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line with :13 remaining. Off a missed layup, Sean Burns finished after his offensive rebound and Linwood Lee couldn't get a friendly roll and last second layup on the other end.
Adam Bonk led the Rangers with 17 points and went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Jameel Moore finished with 15 points and five rebounds while Lee had 10 points. Parkside outshot the Bulldogs 49-percent to 45.8-percent, but UMD got a huge lift at the free-throw line, where the team finished 21-for-24. Rebounds went even at 28 apiece.
Parkside remains home for two straight games, first hosting Indianapolis in the GLVC opener on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. following the women's game. On Saturday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m., the Rangers bring in Trinity International.
