Parkside will play three games in three days while in California, opening the season with No. 16 ranked Azusa Pacific on Friday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. The Rangers will then face Young Harris (Ga.) on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. before battling Wayne State (Neb.) on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 12:45 p.m.
The Rangers, who will be joining the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) beginning in 2018-19, finished last season 10-17 overall and 8-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) while holding a 7-6 record at home in DeSimone Gym.
"This season is about opportunity, the opportunity for some of our young an inexperienced players to get a chance to show their talents," fifth year head coach Jacob Yorg said. "We will be playing predominantly student-athletes that have very little starting experience and it will give us the opportunity to play a different style than we have in recent years."
The Rangers enter the season with four seniors on the roster, however, seniors Blair Arthur, Clarisa Martinez and Shelby Cheston, along with junior Taylor Stephen and redshirt sophomore Kylah Collins, will be redshirting this season. Along with Stephen and Collins, Parkside has five juniors, four sophomores and three freshman. Last season, redshirt senior Hayley Maystead played in 26 games with five starts while junior Asiah Lawson played in 26 games and junior Carolina Rahkonen played in 25.
Parkside's home opener will come against Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.
