KENOSHA, Wis. – In a hard fought match, the UW-Parkside volleyball team fell 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-18) to No. 4 ranked Lewis on Halloween night in DeSimone Gym.

The Rangers fall to 12-14 overall and 7-7 in the GLVC while Lewis, who was recently ranked No. 1 in the national polls before suffering its first conference loss, improves to 23-2 overall and 12-1 in the conference.
Parkside led by as many as five in the first set, owning a 10-5 advantage early, but the Flyers quickly erased the lead and battled back to win the first set. The teams were all tied at 24 apiece before two straight Flyer kills. In the second, the Rangers again jumped out to an early 5-1 lead, but Lewis was able to tie it up at 6-6 and neither team took more than a two point lead the rest of the way as Lewis won the second set 25-23. In the third, the flyers controlled the game from the beginning and never surrendered the lead to the Rangers.
Lexie Turek led the Rangers with 10 kills while Lexie Calloway had nine. Annie Leo, who was honored pregame for her 1,000th career dig, finished tied for first on the team with 14 and had two aces. Katie Adams led the way in assists, recording 31.
Parkside will finish the season with four more home games, as Illinois-Springfield heads to Kenosha on Friday, Nov. 3 for a 7 p.m. match and McKendree comes to town on Saturday, Nov. 4 for a 3 p.m. game.
