INDIANAPOLIS --
Lexi Turek recorded a season-high 21 kills and
Rebecca Roembke and
Kasey Davis each recorded double-doubles, but Indianapolis rallied to defeat Wisconsin-Parkside 25-23, 22-25, 14-25, 25-22, 15-11 on Friday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in the Ruth Lilly Center.
After the Greyhounds won the opening set Wisconsin-Parkside rallied to take a 2-1 lead only to see Indianapolis claim the final two sets to capture the match. The loss ends the Rangers three-match winning streak and drops their record to 4-10 overall and 3-2 in the GLVC. Indianapolis improved to 5-8 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Turek hit a blistering .471 for the match with only five hitting errors in 34 attempts. She also added five digs, four blocks and two service aces.
Roembke and Davis each recorded double-doubles for the Rangers. Roembke posted her fourth consecutive double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs and Davis notched her third straight double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs.
Annie Leo paced the Rangers with 15 digs and setter
Lauren Hickson had 57 assists to go along with seven digs and five kills.
Indianapolis placed four players in double figures in kills led by Katie Volez who had 15.
Wisconsin-Parkside returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 1) when it visits Saint Joseph's for a 2 p.m. GLVC match. The Rangers also will meet Kentucky State in a non-league game at 5 p.m. at Saint Joseph's.
