SOMERS, Wis. (Mar. 18, 2016)-- After 20 games on the road, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball team finally gets to enjoy the comforts of home, welcoming a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference foes to the Case Complex over the weekend. The Rangers open the slate on Saturday against Quincy University before capping off the homestand on Sunday against Truman State University.

First pitch for both doubleheaders is slated for noon with the second game getting underway 25 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest. UW-Parkside will provide live stats for all four games during the weekend.

About the Rangers: UW-Parkside (3-17, 0-4 GLVC) opened the lid on GLVC play last weekend in Saint Louis, dropping four contests by a combined six runs including a pair of tight games against seventh-ranked University of Missouri-Saint Louis.

It was a pitching duel in the opener last Friday with Amber Ramos and Triton All-American Hannah Perryman combining for 24 strikeouts and allowing just five hits as host UMSL escaped with the 1-0 win. Perryman was back on the mound in game two as the Tritons took and early lead and never looked back to net the 3-1 win.

On Saturday, host Maryville University pushed across the decisive score in the bottom of the third for the 5-4 victory before closing the weekend with a 7-5 win in the nightcap.

Carly Dundee is the Rangers' top offensive weapon, owning a .344 batting average with five extra base hits and 15 RBIs. Rachel Seefeldt sports a .296 average with a team-high 12 runs scored while Raegan Fingerman has racked up 11 RBIs. In the circle, Bridget Jost owns a team-best 3.80 earned run average with one complete game in 27 2/3 innings of work while Dundee leads the team in innings pitched (75 2/3), complete games (nine), and strikeouts (39).

About the Hawks: Quincy (6-10, 1-3 GLVC) opened the season at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, posting a 5-7 record in the Grapefruit State before dropping three of four against a pair of Illinois rivals to open the conference slate last weekend.

The Hawks dropped a 1-0 11-inning heartbreaker to the University of Illinois Springfield to open GLVC play before succumbing 9-4 in game two. Quincy broke through with a 5-1 win to open Saturday against McKendree University before closing the weekend on the wrong side of a 6-1 affair.

Lindsey Greene leads the Hawks at the plate with a .306 batting average with 13 RBIs and four home runs. Kaylee Jones has touched home plate a  team-leading 10 times this season while Rachel Scrum boasts 11 RBIs through the first 16 games of the 2016 campaign.

Inside the circle, Tiffany Harbison owns a minuscule 0.27 earned run average with two complete games and 28 strikeouts in 26 innings of work. Kristen Skala has 17 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings of labor while Kasey Bradley, Meghan Quirk and Emily Griskell have all seen at least 20 innings of action.

About the Bulldogs: Truman State (11-7, 3-1 GLVC) heads into the weekend slate having won eight of its last 10 games. The Bulldogs recent run of success began in Tennessee, winning four games at the Trevecca Nazarene Invitational by a combined 25-0 tally. Truman earned a doubleheader split against the University of Central Missouri to open up the month of March before stealing three of four to begin GLVC play at the expense of UIS and McKendree.

Truman blanked UIS 2-0 in the opener before cruising to a 6-1 win to secure the sweep. The Bulldogs downed McKendree 6-3 in game one the following day before the Bearcats salvaged a split with a 4-1 extra innings triumph.

Speedster Christa Reisinger leads TSU at the dish, sporting a .357 average, scoring 16 runs and swiping 16 bases. Riley Cook owns an identical .357 average while Lex Van Nostrand has belted in a team-best 10 runs.

Kelsea Dorsey and Kindra Henze have handled a majority of the pitching duties, pitching a combined 114 innings and netting 113 strikeouts. Dorsey boasts a 7-2 record with a 1.89 earned run average while Henze owns a 2.18 ERA.

Hot Start: All three wins this season have come when the Rangers strike first. UW-Parkside took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning against Lindenwood, owned a 1-0 edge in the second in the extra innings win over Northeastern State, and piled on four runs in the opening frame in the team's blowout win over Findlay.

Hitting Streaks: Raegan Fingerman owns the longest hitting streak of the young season, collecting base hits in 11 consecutive contests. Fingerman's streak began against Saint Cloud State University on Feb. 13 and came to a close on Feb. 28 as the junior had just one opportunity at the plate as a pinch hitter. Highlighting the streak was a three hit, three-RBI effort in the squad's win over Findlay.

More Streaks: Madison Manders has proved adept as a leadoff hitter, safely reaching base in 14 consecutive games and 15 of the 18 games this season.

2x10: UW-Parkside has gone into extra innings on two occasions this season with both contests extended to the 10th inning. International tiebreaker rules went into effect in both games during the 10th with a runner placed on second to start the inning. The Rangers fell 7-6 to Rogers State University in the first 10-inning affair on Feb. 20 before taking down Northeastern State University 9-7 two days later.

Road Warriors: The Rangers played 20 road games prior to Saturday's home opener against GLVC rival Quincy University. UW-Parkside's road odyssey involved games in four different states, logging indoor contests in both Minnesota and Illinois along with outdoor games in Missouri and Oklahoma.

Preseason Prognostications: The Rangers received 24 points in the poll to slot 16th in the annual GLVC preseason coaches' poll. Three-time defending league champion University of Missouri-Saint Louis secured the top spot with 10 of the 16 first place votes and 220 total points while the University of Indianapolis was picked second with the remaining six first place endorsements and 216 points. Truman State University was picked third with Bellarmine University rounding out the top four.

The GLVC will conduct a true round-robin schedule for the second consecutive season with every team facing the other 15 GLVC schools in a doubleheader. The top eight teams by winning percentage will qualify for the GLVC Tournament held from April 29-May 1 in East Peoria, Illinois.
