SOMERS, Wis. (Nov. 5, 2016)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team fell in four sets to Truman State University 1-3 (20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 16-25) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup inside the DeSimone Gymnasium.

Rebecca Roembke and the Rangers (12-16, 8-7 GLVC) came out firing to start off the match. Taking the early lead in set number one, Roembke had 3 kills as Wisconsin-Parkside started things off 6-0, with
Lauren Hickson serving. The Bulldogs (13-15, 10-5 GLVC) had two 6-1 runs in the set and led 20-19. Truman State closed out the set with a 5-1 run, winning 25-20.

Again in the second set, Parkside put the first points on the board and led 3-0 with an assist and a kill from
Katie Adams. Truman came back with an 11-4 run, and taking the lead 11-7. The Rangers battled back with a 9-2 run of their own. The Ranger run was highlighted by three kills from
Lexi Turek and
Lauren Hickson added a kill and two service aces, while collecting 4 assists. The Bulldogs evened things at 22-22, and then closed out the set 25-23.

Continuing their momentum after the intermission, Truman State started out the third set leading 6-4, but UW-Parkside went on a 5-1 run to take their first lead of the set. During the run,
Kasey Davis had 3 kills and
Katie Adams served an ace and assisted on a block. The Rangers would never give the lead back to the Bulldogs in the third, and a late Ranger run of 4-0 gave the Green and White set point 24-20. Truman kept things interesting, forcing Parkside to five set points before they secured the 25-23 set victory.

The Rangers started the fourth set strong, leading 16-11 halfway through.
Katie Adams had four kills, a service ace, and assisted on a block in the set. Truman State flipped the momentum, closing out the set with 14-point run to take the set and the match 25-16.

Kasey Davis (14 kills, 11 digs),
Rebecca Roembke (10 kills, 15 digs), and
Lauren Hickson (35 assists, 17 digs) all had double-doubles in the match.
Annie Leo led the Rangers defensively with 25 digs and
Lexi Turek had 3 blocks.
