SOMERS, Wis. –
Joe Borcia led five players in double figures with 16 points and Wisconsin-Parkside extended its winning streak to three straight with a 101-70 non-conference victory over Trinity International on Saturday in DeSimone Gymnasium.
Wisconsin-Parkside registered its third straight victory following a season-opening loss to Northern Michigan. The Rangers shot a blistering 59.4 percent from the floor for the game, including 62.1 percent in the first half.
Borcia, who redshirted last season, finished the game 7-of-14 from the floor and 2-of-5 from the line to lead the Rangers. He also added eight rebounds, which tied for the team lead.
Wisconsin-Parkside also received 15 points from
Kyle Flanagan and
Alexander Brown. Flanagan was a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, while Brown was 5-of-7 from the field.
Kendale McCullum finished with 13 points and six assists and
Goran Zagorac added 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Rangers inside trio of Borcia, Flanagan and Zagorac finished a combined 17-of-26 from the floor and recorded 43 points, 19 rebounds and three blocked shots.
Trinity International, which dropped to 5-3 on the season, was led by guard Jeremy Carlyle who had 18 points. Grant Corsid finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Trojans.
The game had an inauspicious beginning for the Rangers as Trinity International raced out to an early 10-2 lead behind a pair of three-pointers and a breakaway dunk.
The Rangers quickly responded with a 16-0 run. McCullum drove the lane for a layup to start the run and Flanagan followed with a dunk and a layup to bring Wisconsin-Parkside to within 10-8 with 16:16 to play in the first period.
Brown tied the game with a layup and McCullum put the Rangers ahead to stay at 12-10 with a layup with 15:14 remaining in the opening period.

Jake Verhagen, who finished with nine points and eight rebounds,
Chavares Flanigan and Borcia gave the Rangers an 18-10 lead with 13:58 left in the first.
Following a jumper by Zach Kirschbaum, Wisconsin-Parkside put together an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 26-12 with 10:50 to play in the first period.
A three-pointer by Kirschbaum whittled the Ranger lead to 31-21 with 5:55 to play, but Brown ignited a 14-3 run with a three-pointer that extended the Wisconsin-Parkside lead to 45-24 at the 2:07 mark of the first. The rally was capped by a three-pointer by Verhagen and a thunderous dunk from Zagorac on a fast break.
The Rangers closed the first half on a 5-0 run to take a 50-28 lead into the intermission.
Wisconsin-Parkside opened the second half with a dunk by Flanagan and used a 12-2 run to increase the lead to 62-30 with 16:58 remaining in the game.
The Rangers pushed the lead to as much as 34 points on three occasions and topped the 100-point mark on a driving layup by
Bret Barclay with 42 seconds left in the game.
The Rangers return to action on Nov. 26 when they visit Ferris State for a non-conference game beginning at 2 p.m.
