(Sept. 25, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team was unable to keep pace with host University of Missouri-Saint Louis on Friday night inside the Mark Twain Building, suffering a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14) setback to the Great Lakes Valley Conference rival.
The Rangers (7-5, 1-2 GLVC) led early in the first set before the Tritons (5-6, 2-1 GLVC) mounted a four-point run to seize an 11-7 lead. UMSL owned a lead the rest of the set, claiming a 25-18 opening win.
In set two, UW-Parkside trailed by just one point after a
Jackie Langer kill but the hosts scored five of the final six points of the set to secure the 25-20 victory. UMSL never trailed in the third set, cruising to the 25-14 win to sweep the match.
Langer led the Rangers with 11 kills a d 12 digs with
Lexi Turek and
Rebecca Roembke contributing nine kills and eight kills respectively.
Lauren Hickson accounted for 34 of the squad's 36 assists while
Meghan Conley netted 10 digs.
UMSL finished the night with 11 blocks, including six from Jessica Ploss.
The Rangers remain in the Saint Louis area, closing the trip on Saturday with a 3 p.m. showdown against Maryville University.
