Box ScoreSOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 18, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team dominated the fourth set to secure the victory, 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 25-12), over Missouri University S&T in the Great Lakes Valley Conference season opener at the DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Rangers (6-3, 1-0 GLVC) played strong in the first set against the Miners (6-4, 0-1 GLVC) and claimed the win 25-20. UW-Parkside stole the early lead away from Missouri S&T with a
Rebecca Roembke kill, going up 5-4. The Rangers did not trail the rest of the way in the opening set.

The second set was a much closer affair, with Parkside coming out on top 25-23 after a final S&T service error, their fourth of the set. The Miners turned the tide on the Rangers in the third set by winning 25-18.

In the final set of the night, the Green & White dazzled the home crowd with a decisive 25-12 win. The Rangers were flawless in their attacking during the fourth set with 33 total attacks, 17 kills, and no errors. The set saw
Meghan Conley serving during an eight point run.

Lauren Hickson led the team with 51 assists, and Roembke led with 25 kills.Â
Jackie Langer finished with a double-double by knocking down 17 kills and putting up 20 digs, and led the team with two service aces. Three other Rangers also had double digit digs; they were led by Conley with 22,
Jessi Mainczyk with 14, and Hickson had 10.

The Rangers continue their home stand with a 3pm match on Saturday against GLVC rival Drury University.
