MONMOUTH, Ore. (Sept. 12, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside extended its win streak to three on Saturday, finishing the Western Oregon Invitational with wins over Adelphi University and California State University-Chico. The Rangers rolled Adelphi 3-1 (27-25, 22-25, 25-10, 25-9) to begin the day before overcoming a two set deficit to emerge with the 3-2 (19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-16, 15-11) victory over Chico State.

The opening set against Adelphi (5-3) was a tightly contested affair with UW-Parkside (5-3) claiming the 27-25 victory after neither team owned a lead greater than three points over the course of the set. Lauren Hickson and Rebecca Roembke tipped the scales in favor of the Rangers, collecting kills to turn a tie into a Ranger set win.

The Panthers stole set two 25-22 but Parkside charged back, leading wire-to-wire in a 25-10 set win before icing the contest with 10 of the first 11 points in a 25-9 fourth set rout.

Roembke racked up 23 kills and 14 digs while Lexi Turek and Jackie Langer collected 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Hickson tallied a team-best 48 assists while Jessi Mainczyk paced the defense with 19 digs.

Against Chico State (8-2), the Rangers found themselves in a 2-0 hole after the Wildcats never trailed in a 25-19 opening set win and a 26-24 set two victory.

Set three got off to a rough start for Parkside, yielding nine of the first 10 points before going on a 9-1 run of its own to knot the score at 10-10. Chico State used another surge to stake an 18-11 advantage but the Rangers again fought back, scoring six straight points to secure a 25-24 lead. A service error tied the set before consecutive kills from Roembke gave the Green and White the 27-25 win.

Set four was all Rangers, leading wire-to-wire for the 25-16 decision before claiming the 15-11 win in set five to seal the match win.

Roembke again paced the Ranger attack, finishing with 21 kills and three service aces. Turek tallied 16 kills with Hickson posting 42 assists and Meghan Conley adding 27 digs.

The Rangers open their home slate and Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday, welcoming Missouri University S&T to DeSImone Gymnasium for a 7 p.m. showdown on Friday.
