(Mar. 27, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside softball squad closes out its first homestand of the season on Sunday and Monday at the Case Complex, hosting a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference rivals from the Hoosier State. The frenetic week continues on Tuesday with a twinbill at Lewis University before trekking to north on Wednesday to face Division I University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The Rangers welcome Saint Joseph's College to Somers, Wisconsin for a twinbill on Sunday before facing 12th-ranked University of Indianapolis on Monday. Both doubleheaders are slated to begin at 12 p.m. and live stats will be available for all four games. The Parkside-UIndy series was originally slated for Saturday before getting bumped to Monday in order to take advantage of slightly more balmy weather conditions.

Parkside heads to Romeoville, Illinois, on Tuesday for a doubleheader against Lewis which gets underway at 3 p.m. while taking on UW-Green Bay the following day at 2 p.m.

About the Rangers: UW-Parkside (4-17, 0-8 GLVC) is still searching for its first victory of the conference slate after coming up empty handed last weekend against a pair of Saint Louis schools. One big inning proved to be the Rangers' downfall last Saturday against Maryville University, yielding five runs in the third inning of the opener and allowing four scores in the second inning of game two, dropping both contests by identical 7-2 scores.

Megan Holderby highlighted the day for the Rangers at the plate, crushing two home runs and ending the afternoon with three RBIs.

On Sunday, the Rangers poured on four runs in the bottom of the sixth but it was enough as Parkside fell 8-4 to fourth-ranked University of Missouri-Saint Louis in the opener while the Tritons took the nightcap by an 8-0 score.

Madison Manders leads the Rangers at the plate with a .351 batting average and a .509 slugging percentage while
Paige Harbord is hitting .290.
Courtney Ellingson has a team-high six extra base hits and nine RBIs while
Morgan Dastych has driven in seven runs.

In the circle,
Amber Ramos owns a team-best 3.33 earned run average with 33 strikeouts in 21 innings of action while Ellingson has tossed five complete games, striking out 41 batters in 62 2/3 innings of action.
Carly Dundee is the third Ranger to toe the rubber in 2015, logging 48 1/3 innings of work and striking out 31 with three complete games.

About the Pumas: saint Joseph's (11-11, 4-4 GLVC) won its opening three games of GLVC play but has struggled since, dropping four of its last five games. The Pumas swept Missouri University S&T to open the conference slate on Mar. 14 before splitting a pair of games the next day against Drury University.

SJC was bested 4-0 and 4-1 by host Rockhurst University last Saturday before claiming a doubleheader split with William Jewell College the following day. The host Cardinals blanked the Pumas 3-0 in the opener before Saint Joseph's snapped its four game funk with a 6-3 victory in the nightcap.

Briana Wagner is the Pumas' standout both at the plate and inside the circle. The sophomore righthander sports a .449 batting average with six home runs and 17 RBIs while boasting a 1.80 earned run average in the circle with 24 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings of work.

Emma Littrell is hitting .381 with seven double while Kalene Davis and Ashley Whitaker have driven in 13 and 11 runs this season, respectively.

Megan Schwartzengraber has tossed four complete games and leads the Pumas in strikeouts (29) and innings pitched (58).

About the Greyhounds: 12th-ranked Indianapolis (20-6, 7-1 GLVC) heads into the weekend riding a four-game win streak and having won nine of its last 10 games. The Greyhounds lone setback during that stretch was a 5-4 loss to host William Jewell College on Mar. 21.

UIndy's recent run began on Mar. 14, posting a pair of shutouts at the expense of Drury, emerging from the neutral site affair with 2-0 and 7-0 wins. The Hounds collected a pair of mercy rule victories the next day, blanking Missouri S&T 8-0 in the opener before cruising to the 9-1 win in game two.

UIndy settled for a doubleheader split against William Jewell, winning game one 7-5 and falling 5-4 in game two before sweeping Rockhurst the next day by 5-1 and 5-3 scores. The Hounds took a break from GLVC action on Wednesday, collecting 7-2 and 4-3 wins over Ohio Dominican University.

Natalie Lalich leads the Hounds with a .392 batting average with five home runs and 25 RBIs while Erika Goodwin has eight extra base hits and a .373 average. Casey Willamson has a team-high 12 stolen bases while the squad carries a team batting average of .318.

In the circle, Morgan Foley has pitched over half of the total innings played, seeing action in 106 innings and tossing 10 complete games with 160 strikeouts and a 1.25 earned run average. Coryn Tirpak has logged 37 innings inside the circle, owning an ERA of 4.73.

About the Flyers: Lewis (13-10, 4-4 GLVC) opened up its home slate last weekend, splitting a pair of doubleheaders against UMSL and Maryville.

The Flyers stunned fourth-ranked Missouri-Saint Louis 5-3 in the opener last Saturday before the Tritons returned the favor, salvaging a split with a 5-3 win over the hosts. On Sunday, Lewis again prevailed in the opener, collecting a 6-5 win before getting pummeled 11-0 in the second game to close the weekend.

Lewis is led at the plate by Carly Jaworski who owns a .390 batting average with 14 RBIs while Jenna Cairo has a team-best seven doubles while carrying a .299 average.

In the circle, Kelly Bowler has handled the heavy lifting, logging 96 2/3 innings with a 2.68 earned run average with 11 complete games and 92 punchouts. Lainie Schweickert has seen 55 1/3 innings or work, tossing two complete games and fanning 46 batters.

About the Phoenix: UW-Green Bay (8-12, 2-1 Horizon League) takes on the University of Illinois-Chicago in a three-game series this weekend before opening its home slate on Tuesday against the Rangers.

The Phoenix opened up Horizon League play last weekend, winning two of three against host Valparaiso University. Green Bay topped the Crusaders 7-2 in the opener on Mar. 20 before dropping a 10-2 decision the next day. UWGB regrouped with a 12-7 victory in game two on Saturday to secure a doubleheader split and win the series.

Green Bay has three players hitting above .300 led by Hailey Mohrfeld who owns a .377 batting average while Abby Brinkmeier owns a .333 average with 10 RBIs. Katelyn Huemmer is hitting at a .304 clip, scoring 10 runs while Mirand Spangberg has a team-high 11 RBIs.
