MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Nov. 5, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball team outscored Division I University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the second half but was unable to shake off a sluggish start, succumbing 81-62 to the in-state rivals in an exhibition on Thursday night inside the Klotsche Center.

The three-time defending Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division Champion Rangers outscored the Panthers 35-31 over the final 20 minutes of action while concluding the game with a 40-32 scoring advantage in the paint.

Andy Mazurczak highlighted the night for the Green and White, pouring on a game-high 23 points, shooting nine-for-14 from the floor while Kendale McCullum and Alexander Brown both chipped in 10 points off the bench.

UW-Milwaukee scored the opening nine points and quickly established a double-digit lead. Parkside got rolling late in the half, scoring 12 of the final 16 points as the Panthers owned a 50-27 edge at the intermission.

A 9-0 Ranger run cut the gap to just 13 points with 4:40 left in the second half but visiting UW-Parkside was unable to come any closer as Milwaukee hung on for the 19-point win. Goran Zagorac instigated the run with a layup before getting a three from Brown. A McCullum steal set up a Mazurczak fast break bucket the ensuing possession before a McCullum layup capped off the nine-point scoring binge cover a two-minute stretch.

14 Rangers saw action in the exhibition, including nine who saw double digit minutes. Zagorac pulled down a team-high four rebounds while McCullum dished out four assists.

Matt Tiby paced UW-Milwaukee with 21 points and seven boards while Austin Arians and Jordan Johnson both added 13 points. J.R. Lyle was the fourth Panther in double figures, netting 10 off the bench.

The Rangers begin the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 14, hosting Saint Xavier University in a non-conference clash set for 3 p.m.
