(Nov. 14, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad closed the regular season on a sour note on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20) to host University of Indianapolis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division showdown inside the Ruth Lilly Center.
Â
The host Greyhounds (15-16, 11-7 GLVC) never trailed in the opening set, securing the 25-20 win. In set two, the Rangers (19-11, 10-8 GLVC) owned an early lead but was unable to withstand a 7-1 run by UIndy down the stretch, again falling 25-20. UW-Parkside tallied the opening two points of the third set but it was all Hounds after that, building a 9-5 lead en route to the 25-20 set win to secure the match.
Â
Jackie Langer led the Rangers with 10 kills while
Lauren Hickson accounted for 25 of the squad's 29 assists during the match.
Meghan Conley added 10 digs defensively while
Elizabeth Mavis tallied three blocks.
Â
Despite the loss, UW-Parkside's season-long resume earned the squad the No. 4 seed in the East Division for the 2015 GLVC Championship Tournament. The Rangers will open the postseason on Friday against No.1 seed in the West Rockhurst University.
