EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Jan. 22, 2015)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball squad never trailed on Thursday evening, disposing of host University of Southern Indiana, 70-52, for the Rangers sixth consecutive victory in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division showdown inside the Physical Activities Center.
 
The Rangers (13-4, 6-2 GLVC) secured an early 10-4 edge before the host Screaming Eagles (14-4, 6-2 GLVC) rolled off the next six points, tying the game at 10 with 9:42 left in the first half off a Libby Ogden three. A Jennifer Blunt layup increased the visitor's margin back up to six but USI closed back within a possession at 20-18 with 4:32 left in the opening stanza. A Justine Boerger three jump started a 13-2 Ranger run, capped off by a Jessica Prince layup with 26 ticks left to open a 13-point advantage before taking a 33-22 lead into the halftime intermission.
 
USI was kept at bay the entire second half, never coming closer than nine points as Parkside captured its sixth straight win.
 
Gaby Bronson and Tara Knapstein powered the Ranger offensive attack, both finishing with 12 points. Bronson additionally distributed four assists while Knapstein earned three blocks. Jessica Prince netted eight points and nine boards while Brittney Fair tallied nine points. A total of 11 Rangers tallied a point while all 14 players who suited up saw action in the 18-point blowout win.
 
Mary O'Keefe paced the Screaming Eagles with 13 points while Anna Hackert added eight points and a game-high 12 boards.
 
UW-Parkside shot 49.1 percent (26-for-53) from the floor while canning 11 threes on the night, finishing with a 45.8 percent (11-for-24) clip from distance. UW-Parkside additionally limited Southern Indiana to shooting just 29.2 percent (19-for-65) from the floor, including a paltry 8.3 percent (one-for-12) from three-point land.
 
Parkside outrebounded USI by a 46-36 margin while generating 37 points off the bench.
 
UW-Parkside caps off its road swing on Saturday, facing Bellarmine University at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Louisville, Kentucky.
