(Sept. 30, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad was unable to bottle up red-hot Lewis University on Tuesday night, suffering a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-12) setback to the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division rivals at Neil Carey Arena.

In the opening set, the visiting Rangers (6-6, 3-4 GLVC) capitalized on back-to-back Flyer attack errors to secure an early 12-8 advantage. Lewis (11-2, 6-1 GLVC) charged back, tying the game at 15 before taking a 16-15 lead. The squad's traded points with UW-Parkside enjoying a 21-20 lead off a
Jackie Langer kill. The Rangers were unable to close out the set, yielding the next five points as Lewis escaped with the 25-21 set victory.

The Flyers never trailed in the second set, earning the 25-19 win. In the third set, Lewis tallied the opening three points but the Rangers answered with four in a row to take the one point lead. Lewis scored six of the next seven and never looked back, cruising to the 25-12 win to secure its sixth straight match victory.

Langer led the Green and White with seven kills while
Rebecca Roembke added five along with nine digs.
Megan Pekarek collected 24 assists while
Jessi Mainczyk racked up 13 digs on the defensive end.

The Rangers continue their road swing on Friday night, taking on the University of Southern Indiana at 7 p.m. in Evansville.
