LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad collected its second straight road victory on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division foe Bellarmine University 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-20) inside Knights Hall.

The host Knights (5-8, 2-7 GLVC) owned a 7-4 lead in the opening set but the Rangers (8-6, 5-4 GLVC) rattled off 12 of the next 14, building a 16-9 advantage. Jackie Langer tallied three kills during the stretch while Lauren Hickson, Lexi Turek and Rebecca Roembke each added a pair of kills. UW-Parkside maintained at least a six-point buffer the rest of the way, claiming the 25-17 win in set one.

The Rangers never trailed in set two, pounding Bellarmine 25-15. The Knights scored four of the first five points in set three but the visitors quickly tied the contest at 4-4. A Ranger service error gave BU a 9-7 lead but UW-Parkside netted the next three points for the 10-9 lead. The set was tied at 10-10 and again at 11-11 but the Rangers proved to much for the Knights to handle, reclaiming the lead and seizing the 25-22 victory to win the match in straight sets.

Langer led the Rangers with 11 kills while Roembke added eight kills and eight digs. Sonja Burnson was a force at the net, accumulating eight blocks while Megan Pekarek and Hickson finished with 20 and 16 assists, respectively. Victoria Walsh netted a team-high 14 digs while Meghan Conley added nine.

The Rangers return to the friendly confines of DeSimone Gymnasium on Tuesday night, taking on Olivet Nazarene University in a non-conference match beginning at 7 p.m.
