MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (Oct. 10, 2014)-- Kelsey Armour and Taylor Schiffer-Jander found the back of the net in the second half, powering the 13th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team to the 2-0 victory over host Maryville University in a cold and rainy Great Lakes Valley Conference battle at the Lou Fusz Fields.

Armour opened the scoring in the 54th minute, tapping in her third goal of the season after Schiffer Jander fed the ball to the senior on a cross from the right side. The visiting Rangers (9-0-2, 7-0-2 GLVC) tacked on an insurance goal in the 83rd minute with Bailey Reed and Jillian Hetfleisch setting up the Schiffer-Jander score, her third of the year. 

The two squads totaled just four shots in the opening 45 minutes of play, heading into the halftime break tied 0-0. Three of the four attempts in the opening stanza came off the boot of UW-Parkside players. The Rangers finished the game with an 11-3 edge in shots, including eight of the nine taken on goal.

Mallory Geurts made one save to collect her second straight clean sheet while Bailey Doerflinger suffered the loss, making six saves on the afternoon.

Parkside sits atop the GLVC standings and has outscored opponents by an impressive 26-2 margin this season. The Rangers close out their tour of Saint Louis on Sunday, taking on the University of Missouri-Saint Louis at noon.
