Rangers Topple Saints, 84-63

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. (Jan. 11, 2014)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad pushed its win streak to four on Saturday afternoon, pounding Maryville University 84-63 inside Moloney Arena to remain undefeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

The Rangers (11-2, 4-0 GLVC) led wire-to-wire en route to the 21-point blowout victory. UW-Parkside led 13-10 with 13:20 left in the opening half before scoring the next 12 points to increase the Ranger edge to double digits. UW-Parkside led by as many as 20 points before taking a 41-26 lead into the halftime intermission.

The Rangers led by as many as 27 points in the second half and held a comfortable double digit margin the final 20 minutes of action.

Zygimantas Riauka led the Rangers with 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, finishing seven-for-nine from the floor. Jordan Mach drained seven three-pointers, finishing with 21 points while Colt Grandstaff and Jimmy Gavin collected 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Asa Toney led the Saints (8-4, 2-2 GLVC) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Melvin Turner had 14 points while Armon Provo added 13.

UW-Parkside finished the contest shooting 57.7 percent (30-for-52), including a red-hot 65.4 percent (17-for-26) in the second half.

The Rangers return to action on Thursday, taking on the University of Illinois Springfield at 7:30 p.m.
