CEDARVILLE, Ohio. (Nov. 8, 2013)-- In a see-saw battle that saw eight lead changes and nine ties, it was the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball team that had the last laugh, downing Central State University 95-83 in the second annual Don Callan Classic inside Cedarville University's Callan Athletic Center.

Jordan Mach headlined the Rangers' (1-0) efforts, appearing in his first game since January 2012 and finishing one point shy of matching a career-high, finishing the contest with 24 points, going seven-for-13 from the floor and canning four treys.

UW-Parkside stormed out of the gates, staking an early 10-4 lead before a Mach three with 13:12 left in the opening half ballooned the Rangers advantage to double digits at 23-13. The Marauders answered the challenge, utilizing a 12-2 run to tie the contest with just under 10 minutes before halftime. Central State eventually siezed the lead an owned a 47-42 advantage after a LeDonte Body jumper before the Rangers collected the final eight points of the half, including a Zygimantas Riauka dunk with five ticks left to secure a 50-47 edge after 20 minutes of play.

A Riauka dunk two minutes into the second stanza gave UW-Parkside the six-point buffer but the pesky Marauders wouldn't go away, netting the score at 63 with 13:30 remaining in the game.

Central State secured its first lead of the second half off a pair of Raheem Lemons free throws with 9:15 remaining and owned a 74-72 edge with 6:14 left before the Rangers closed the game on a 23-9 run to collect the 12-point win.

Colt Grandstaff posted 22 points, shooting nine-for-12 from the floor while Riauka added 20 points, six boards, five assists and four blocks. Jimmy Gavin was the fourth Ranger in double figures, coming off the bench and scoring 15 points in his debut.

Body paced Central State with 17 points while Anthony Rule, Masceo Harmon and Tre Edwards each added 16 points.

UW-Parkside enjoyed a terrific day from the floor, finishing the game shooting 59.3 percent (35-for-59) while canning half of all shots (10-for-20) from three-point range.

The Rangers conclude the Don Callan Classic on Saturday against host Cedarville. Action is slated to begin at 4:15 p.m. (Central Time).
