INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 7, 2013)-- University of Wisconsin-Parkside goalkeeper Mallory Geurts is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Monday.

Geurts secures the honor after posting a pair of overtime shutouts on the road over the weekend, helping the Rangers (6-2-2, 4-2-2 GLVC) extend their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1). The freshman tallied six saves in a double overtime scoreless stalemate against host McKendree University on Friday before logging eight saves on Sunday against Bellarmine University as the Rangers prevailed 1-0 in overtime.

The sport management major finished the week with 14 saves in 201 minutes of work. Geurts, who also claimed the honor on Sept. 9, has five shutouts in just 10 collegiate starts with a goals against average of 0.79.

UW-P returns to action on Friday, hosting the University of Illinois Springfield at 1:15 p.m. at Wood Road Field.
