LEBANON, Ill. (Jan. 19, 2013)-- University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball head coach Luke Reigel collected his 112th career victory, moving into second place in the program's all-time wins list as the Rangers utilized a big first half to cruise past McKendree University 76-59 on Saturday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division showdown inside the Melvin Price Convocation Center.

The Rangers (10-4, 5-1 GLVC) dominated the Bearcats (7-9, 1-5 GLVC) in virtually every statistical category, holding a 48-12 advantage in points in the paint, a 14-2 edge in points off turnovers, a 15-4 edge in second chance points, a 35-22 edge in rebounds while committing just five turnovers on the afternoon.

The host Bearcats held a 7-5 lead with 16:42 remaining in the opening half before the Rangers took control, scoring 13 unanswered points to build an 11-point buffer with just over 10 minutes left in the half. UWP enjoyed a 39-25 lead at intermission and maintained at least a 12-point buffer the entire second half in the 17-point blowout victory.

Jeremy Saffold led the Rangers with 18 points, shooting seven-for-12 from the field. Zygimantas Riauka and Kevin Senechalle both tallied 12 points and seven rebounds while Andy Mazurczak added nine points, sinking all four of his attempts from the floor.

McKendree's John Steppe led all scorers with 22 points while Clinton Happe collected 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

The victory edges Reigel past Rees Johnson on the Rangers' all-time wins list. Johnson was the head coach at UW-Parkside from 1982-1988, collecting 111 victories in that span.

UWP returns to the court on Monday, opening up a three-game homestand against Lewis University. Tipoff inside DeSimone Gymnasium is slated for 7:30 p.m.
