SOMERS, Wis. (Dec. 8, 2012)-- Six players finished in double figures as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball team dismantled Clarke University, 96-60, on Saturday afternoon inside DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Crusaders (6-6) raced out to an early 7-0 advantage before Zygimantas Riauka drained a three to get the Rangers (5-2) on the board and spark a 9-0 run to claim the lead. UW-Parkside held a 20-15 lead with 9:15 remaining in the opening half before scoring the next 18 points over a seven minute stretch, holding a 23-point edge with 2:24, eventually taking a 43-21 lead into the locker room at halftime, holding Clarke to shooting just 23.5 percent (eight-for-34) from the floor.

The Rangers maintained at least a 21-point buffer the entire second half en route to the 36-point blowout victory. UWP owned a 43-29 edge on the glass while scoring 35 points off Clarke's 24 turnovers. UW-Parkside enjoyed a strong shooting performance in the second half, hitting 63.3 percent (19-for-30) of its opportunities and finishing the contest shooting 54.5 percent (36-for-66).

Riauka notched his second double-double of the season, posting a game-high 21 points while grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds. The sophomore forward hit seven of his nine shots from the field in matching a season-high while dishing out four assists. Conrad Krutwig and Colt Grandstaff each tallied 13 points while Kevin Senechalle added 12 points and six boards. Jeremy Saffold finished two boards shy of a double-double, scoring 10 points with eight rebounds. Andy Mazurczak was the sixth Ranger in double figures, registering 10 points along with four assists and a game-high four steals.

Luke Cassedy led the Crusaders with 16 points while Franz Winkler added 12. John Hedrington led the NAIA school in rebounds with eight.

The Rangers take a 21-day break before closing out their four-game homestand on Saturday, January, 29, playing host to Michigan Tech University. Tipoff inside DeSimone Gymnasium is slated for 3 p.m.
